The OML Story

Why did we create Oregon Media Lab?

After many casual conversations around town, and 10 years producing events like Doc Camp for the filmmaking community, we've heard 3 things again and again from media makers and industry professionals alike:

It’s confusing

Oregon's media world can feel pretty fractured. Whether you're new to town or not, it’s hard to keep track who's doing what and how we all fit together as an industry.

OML makes that easier.

Get in touch. Let us help.

It’s lonely

There are many talented media makers going it alone. They yearn for a sense of community, would like access to shared work spaces and get frustrated competing with each other again and again for the same funding.

OML connects and elevates media makers.

Come to a meet-up. Make some friends!

It’s overwhelming

There are many media organizations with wonderful missions and meaningful plans. But consistent funding is a constant battle, leaving these groups understaffed and limited in what they are able to actually offer to the very media makers they are trying to support.

OML creates opportunities for media organizations to be more effective.
